Designed by Greta M. Grossman in the 1952 year, the 62 Series desktop was considered to have been ten years ahead of its time, hence the name '62 Series' to designate this collection edited by Gubi. Its thin metal legs with solid wood spheres, contrast with the other rectangular shapes, giving the furniture an appearance of lightness.

Gubi is a Danish firm of furniture and lighting of original design characterized by the search of icons of the past and contemporary designs of avant-garde of new creators.

Diseñador

Greta M. Grossman (1906-1999) excelled in the fields of industrial design, interiors and architecture. This Swedish designer emigrated in the 40 years to the USA and was imbued with the Californian modernism of the mid-twentieth century.
During the decades of 40 and 50 he made his most representative designs, among which the Gräshoppa floor lamp (1947) and the Cobra lamp (1950) stand out. With this latest design, he won the prestigious Good Design Award. He has exhibited at the MoMA in New York or at the National Museum in Stockholm, among others.
