During his career, Finn Juhl designed a series of different tables with almost invisible legs in polished or painted steel and with wooden tips. In this way, he introduced an almost floating lightness in his designs. When he established his first studio in downtown Copenhagen at 1945, he designed the very simple Nyhavn desk with polished steel legs, which shaped his furniture design during the 1950 decade.
Finn Juhl varied the simple concept for different purposes and finishes. Today, the table is made in different sizes and is available with a plywood table in teak or black linoleum combined with oak, walnut or Oregon pine, with matching wooden toecaps. Alternatively, the legs are available in polished steel, black, orange or light blue.
The Nyhavn table can be ordered with a chest of drawers in a range of warm or cold colors. The chest of drawers is mounted with supports, to further emphasize the floating lightness of the table.
