The pp502 Swivel Chair swivel chair by PP Møbler is designed by Hans J. Wegner and is based on comfort and ergonomics as paramount considerations. It is an extension of the pp501 / pp503 models. The upper part of the backrest in solid wood is curved like a propeller to adapt perfectly to the contour of the back.
Wegner was inspired by Egill Snorrason, who did not give enough importance to ergonomics. This Wegner chair became the ergonomically correct exception.
Details: It combines solid oak, ash or cherry wood with stainless steel and standard leather upholstery.

Diseñador

Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) was born in Tønder, Denbrand. At the age of 17 years, he finished his apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker with IC Stahlberg. In Copenhagen he attended the School of Arts and Crafts. As a young architect, he joined Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller, working on furniture design for the new town hall of Aarhus at 1940. During the same year, the master cabinetmaker, Johannes Hansen, began to collaborate with Wegner. The Copenhagen Museum of Art and Industry acquired its first chair at 1942 and Wegner created his own design studio a year later. Among Danish furniture designers, it is considered one of the most creative and productive.
