The suspended lamp Tatou de Flos is designed by Patricia Urquiola. In French Tatou means 'armadillo', a mammal known for the structure formed by its bony plates; the designer was also inspired by the ancient Japanese armors. The shape of the dome of the Tatou lamp serves as a filter for the source of illumination, creating a harmonious play of light and shadow. The color is also decisive for the final light effect. The decision of the three colors (white, black and ocher) does not respond only to an aesthetic choice, but to a specific search for different lighting effects.
