"For some cultures, lamps chase away darkness bringing hope. I've tried to keep this emotional angle on the light“, Says Jaime Hayón. Dating back centuries, paper lamps have always been present in Asia, where different colors, shapes and sizes connote different meanings. Here Hayon has dispensed with cultural formalities to create a series of lamps, all in white. Handmade with rice paper in various sizes and shapes.
The series consists of four different versions in ivory white rice paper with touches of black-stained oak in sizes from 38 cm in diameter to 70 cm. Each weighs only 1 kilo and hang delicately in any indoor environment.
Details: Model JH4 of 50 cm in diameter. Bulb not included.
