For more than two decades, the Vitra Design Museum has made miniature replicas of the most important pieces in its collection. The Miniatures Collection is a compendium of the history of industrial furniture design, from Historicism and Art Nouveau to Bauhaus and New Objectivity, from Radical Design and Postmodernism to the present day.
With a size that is exactly one sixth of that of the historical originals, the chairs are true to scale and reproduce every detail of construction, material and color. The authenticity reaches even the natural grain of the wood and the reproduction of the screws and the complex artisan techniques used. For this reason, miniatures have become very popular collectibles and ideal teaching materials for universities, design schools and architects.

Diseñador
Pierre Paulin (Paris, 1927) made his debut in the field of design in the 50 years after studying stone carving and clay modeling at the Ecole Camondo in Paris.
He is immediately known for his innovative designs as he anticipated in some way the social revolutions of the following decades. In the years 70 was chosen by the French president Pompidou to adapt a series of reception rooms in the Elysee Palace, which imposed modernity on this place through its emblematic and innovative style.
