his charismatic PK22 ™ armchair and the PK61 ™ coffee table They were designed in 1956, Fritz Hansen celebrates this anniversary by joining them in an exclusive set. The anniversary set Poul Kjærholm presents these classics in new finishes, faithfully contruidos according to the designer's own philosophy, in which their beautiful designs should last over time.
Introduced in 1956, the PK22 ™ chair was an immediate success both commercially and critically. Thanks to the artisan processes and the great design of this piece, in 1957 it won the Grand Prix at the XI Milan Triennial, and in 1958 it obtained the Lunning Prize, the most prestigious art and design award in Scandinavian countries. The PK22 ™ is made with a seat and backrest upholstered in Royal Nubuck suede upper and an anthracite gray handcrafted steel frame.
Kjærholm created the PK1956 ™ coffee table in 61 to complement the PK22 ™ armchair, one of his earliest designs and which laid the foundation for his philosophy. Despite the extreme distillation of the structure into a set of identical elements governed by the geometry and structural properties of the materials, the table shows Kjaerholm's evolution from industrial designer to furniture architect. The PK61 ™ anniversary tabletop is in Petra marble, a durable and beautiful high-end surface.
