The PH 3/2 table lamp, designed by Poul Henningsen for signing Louis Poulsen, is based on a system of three reflective screens that directs most of the light downwards.
The screens are made of hand-blown three-layer opal glass, polished on the top and matt (sandblasted) on the bottom; resulting in a soft and diffuse light.

Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) was born in Copenhagen. He studied at the School of Technicians in Frederiksberg, Denbrand and at the Technical College, in Copenhagen.
He began to practice traditional functionalist architecture, but over the years his professional interests changed to focus on lighting. At the beginning of the Second World War, he was chief architect of the Tivoli Gardens (Copenhagen). It became a vital part of the Danish colony of artists who lived in Sweden.
His ongoing collaboration with Louis Poulsen Lighting began at 1925 and lasted until his death.
