The Model 2109/16/14 lamp is part of the luminaire series Le Sfere, designed by the Italian master of lighting Gino Sarfatti, and reintroduced now by Astep as part of the prestigious collection Flos with Sarfatti.
The luminaire has 16 opal glass spheres (14 cm in diameter), which are inspired by the natural poetry of the Moon and mimic its delicate light in an elegant design. Throughout his life, heaven served as a muse for the enlightenment master Gino Sarfatti.
Each ring has a small cut that allows the spheres to be placed down or up and thus provide a direct or indirect light composition. The model 2109/16/14 and model 2109/24/14 they have spheres of blown opal glass of 14 cm in diameter in provisions of sixteen and twenty four respectively, while the sixteen spheres of the model 2109/16/20 They are larger and measure 20 cm in diameter.

Gino Sarfatti

Gino Sarfatti (Venice, 1912 - Gravedona, 1984) graduated in Aeronaval Engineering from the University of Genoa and from 1939 he dedicated himself to lighting, founding Arteluce, a national and international reference in the Modern Design Movement in the lighting sector.
Sarfatti designed and produced more than 400 lamps in his 30 career years, providing innovative solutions for shapes, materials, production technologies, light sources, lighting technical effects and design features, receiving numerous awards, like the Compasso d'Oro in 1954 and 1955 and the Honorary Diploma of the Triennale in Milan.
