The Bestlite lamp collection was designed by Robert Dudley Best and edited by the firm Gubi. The Bestlite BL4 floor lamp, like the rest of the collection, is inspired by the Bauhaus movement and its production has not been interrupted since 1930. Formed by table lamps, suspended and standing of different sizes that thanks to its unique aesthetics and functionality have become an icon of contemporary design.

Diseñador

Robert Dudley Best (1892-1984) after inheriting the largest lighting factory in the world, traveled to the International Exhibition of Modern Design in Paris, being fascinated by Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe. Inspired by what he had seen, he began his industrial design studies in Paris and Düsseldorf, making a close friendship with Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus movement. Here he made the first sketches of the iconic Bestlite collection. The designs of his Birmingham factory changed radically.
