«For some cultures, lamps chase away darkness bringing hope. I've tried to keep this emotional angle on the light", He says Jaime Hayon. Going back centuries, paper lamps have always been present in Asia, where different colors, shapes and sizes connote different meanings. Here Hayon has dispensed with cultural formalities to create a series of lamps, all in white. Handmade with rice paper in various sizes and shapes.
The series, edited by & Tradition, it is made up of four different versions in ivory white rice paper with touches of black stained oak in sizes from 38 cm to 70 cm in diameter. Each weighs just 1 kilogram and hangs delicately in any indoor setting.
