Eero Saarinen designed in 1948 the innovative Womb armchair edited by the firm Knoll at the request of Florence Knoll. In principle, the sofa did not fall within the initial plans of the designer, but the first major architectural commission he had led him to develop it. It was the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan; a complex of twenty-five buildings that required the furnishing of more than 5.000 people.
The collection shows the designer's talent for challenging the rules, breaking molds and setting new standards of contemporary design. Womb is available in two sizes: standard and medium.
Details: Womb Relax two-seater sofa. Chromed frame and upholstered in Cato Sand fabric. 43,5 cm seat height.
