Description
In 1934, the architect Josep Torres Clavé designed this wooden armchair as part of the furniture that was to house the Pavilion of the Spanish Republic at the International Exhibition in Paris in 1937, together with Guernica by Pablo Picasso and other works by Alexander Calder or Joan Miró .
The Torres Clavé armchair is inspired by the traditional Ibizan chairs. With an oak wood structure and seat and backrest woven with handcrafted rope, due to its formal character it is especially suitable for hotel, reception or living rooms and reading areas in libraries and other unique spaces. It is also a particularly warm and natural armchair for home interior decoration.
It has been part of the permanent Collection of the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona since 1994. Made by hand, it is an emblematic and iconic piece that Mobles 114 has been manufacturing since it was reissued in 1987.
Details: Oak armchair and seat and back in natural rope.
