Jasper Morrison (1959) was born in London and studied at the Royal School of Art in London; then he moves to the Higher School of Art in Berlin. At 1986 he opens his own design studio in London. It arouses attention for the clarity of concepts of the Reuters News Center facilities in the Documenta 8 in Kassel.
It becomes the precursor of the "New simplicity", a trend that advocates a humble and, at the same time, more serious interpretation of design. In addition to furniture, he designs lamps, domestic accessories, fabrics, a tram for the city of Hannover and the bus station of the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein. Together with the Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa he returns to draw attention in 2006 with the exhibition Super Normal.
