Carlo Mollino (Turin, 1905 - Turin, 1973) obtained his degree in architecture in 1931 and his career was highly diversified, encompassing architecture, design, interior decoration and urban planning. He became interested in disciplines as diverse as photography, racing cars or aeronautics, being an expert in these fields. He is credited with the phrase: "Everything is permissible as long as it is fantastic", which seemed to brand his style at work.
His work is characterized by the prevalence of the sinuous line, and by the modern reinterpretation of craft techniques. Its production made it one of the symbols of the 1950s decade. One of his important works is the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Turin.
