The CH410 Peter chair —currently edited by Carl Hansen- It was designed by Hans J. Wegner during world war II. Finding quality wartime gifts in Europe was not easy, so when Wegner needed a suitable baptism gift for Peter, the son of his friend and furniture designer Børge Mogensen, he took it upon himself to manufacture it.
A consummate cabinetmaker, Wegner conceived and built a simple but ingenious table and chair that would function as a functional object and as a captivating toy. Designed as a life-size 3D puzzle in untreated beech, the assembly is easily assembled without the use of tools.
Originally designed as part of a set, the CH410 chair can be combined with the table CH411. Together, these pieces reveal the scope of Wegner's innovative spirit, as well as his superior ability to achieve simplicity while honoring children's natural needs and interests.
Details: Made with solid untreated beech wood. Seat height of 26 cm.
