Artem's Mademoiselle chair was created in 1956 by Ilmari Tapiovaara. During his career Tapiovaara designed several versions of these traditional pieces of furniture. The new designs were modern, but also familiar and welcoming at the same time. The Mademoiselle chair is one of the most emblematic symbols of the 1950 decade in Finland.
