The interaction between positive and negative space is fundamental in In Between, the chair designed by Sami Kallio. Its back and side panels provide a concrete shape and support, but the shapes are created equally by the spaces between them.
Kallio's experience in traditional carpentry crafts is evident in the chair. In Between is produced using two classic techniques: compression molding (making it light and thin, but strong) and wood turning (a technique that uses a lathe to achieve greater detail). Sami Kallio, with his solid foundation in traditional Scandinavian carpentry techniques and his eye for ingenious details, has proven to be the ideal candidate to design the first wooden chair in the & Tradition collection.
Details: SK1 model in oil-smoked oak. Seat height of 45 cm.
