Product description

La Caratos family, designed by Antonio Citerio for Maxalto, grows and expands, becoming a rich collection of proposals for the most different environments. The distinctive feature of all the pieces is the base, a recognizable die-cast aluminum structure that outlines it. Besides the chairs and seats presented in 2017, Caratos is now presented with a armchair with arm, an armchair, a tubular armchair and two stools with a swivel seat, as well as a bench, a pouf and a small table. The metallic structures in graphite and amber colors now have blue, amaranth and cream varnishes, to combine with the upholstery fabrics.
Caratos turns out to be a group of ductile products, ready to always reveal new surprises even for the coming years.

Diseñador

Antonio Citterio was born in 1950 in Meda, Italy. He studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan. In 1972 he starts his activity as an advisor and designer in the field of industrial design and, between 1987 and 1996, he works with Terry Dwan in the Studio Citterio / Dwan.
From 1990 to 1992, she teaches at the Domus Academy in Milan and, from 1993 to 1995, she is an external furniture design examiner at the Royal School of London before accepting a teaching position two years later at La Sapienza University in Rome .
Already at 1999, he founded with Patricia Viel, Antonio Citterio and Partners, a multidisciplinary studio in Milan. Until 2002 teaches at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Italian Switzerland. From 2006 returns to occupy a chair there.
