Clizia, designed by Angelo Mangiarotti, is a chair composed of a cantilevered seat supported by a central support; a sculpture to sit with obvious sinuous and fluid lines, apparently in contrast to the hardness and rigor of the stone from which it is made.
It is a carefully calibrated construction, whose complexity evokes certain Escher works.
The upper edge of the seat coincides with the lower edge, so that the monolithic sections of the Clizia chairs are made of the same marble block with a single cut made by numerically controlled machines, simultaneously creating two chairs, and thus optimizing the material by reducing the waste to a minimum.
Details: Marble seat suitable for indoor or outdoor use, made of white Carrara, with rusted steel support.
