Kurt Thut (1931-2011) was born in Möriken, Switzerland. While attending the School of Art and Design in Zurich, Thut improved his skills in carpentry in his father's workshop.
Years later, he took over the workshop and managed to turn it into a specialized industrial production company that exported products for the first time. This is how the firm Thut Möbel AG came into being, where he played the roles of designer, developer, engineer and producer.
Believing that good design must be simple and straightforward above all else, Thut's best-known works remain true to his philosophy. We can highlight the sideboard of the 694 series (1953) and the KT-221 sofa (1956) for the De Sede brand.
At 2009, Thut Möbel won the Swiss Grand Prix of design. He died in 2011.
Naharro furniture distributes some of the pieces manufactured by Kurt Thut in its Madrid stores and online store, with delivery and assembly service throughout Spain. Ask us for any additional information.
