Jesús Curia Pérez (1969) was born in Madrid and graduated from the Complutense University in 1992. He is currently a professor at Francisco de Vitoria University from 2009.
Jesús Curiá Pérez's work shows a clearly defined and unique visual language. It is mainly this technique that has allowed him to create and preserve a unique signature.
From the earliest works, he has shown his interest in ethnic cultures, focusing on the issue of age and transition, with tradition, modernity and ethnicity being the three basic aspects in his works of art.
The body is the focal point in each of the sculptures. It is the subject of study and research of the artist; the object that allows you to show your ideas and ideals. The men and women of Jesús Curiá are private but powerful characters. Through them, we can distinguish an existential search and a mysterious loneliness.
He has exhibited internationally in places like Chicago, Cologne, Karlsruhe, Kuala Lumpur, Brussels, Amsterdam, London, Milan, Stockholm, Madrid, Paris, or Bruges among others.
His works are part of collections such as Sungsan Art Hall (South Korea), Funds from the ONCE Typhlological Museum, CAM Artistic Heritage Funds, UCM Artistic Heritage Funds, etc.
