Hvidt & Mølgaard

Peter hvidt (1916-1986) y Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen (1907-1993) were mid-century pioneers of Danish design and founders of the firm Hvidt & Mølgaard, based in Copenhagen.
Renowned for the simplicity of their works, the duo established a simple and precise aesthetic by designing countless pieces of furniture over the years, many of which became icons of the time. The success of the AX chair (manufactured in 1950) was a pivotal moment for the couple. Their smooth, well-controlled silhouette not only established them as leaders of Danish modernism, but the use of laminated wood allowed the chair to be mass produced and exported internationally. This avant-garde approach to industrialized production paved the way for a new movement that relied on classic artisan techniques to make beautiful and affordable home furnishings.
Today, his works are exhibited at MoMA, the National Gallery in Melbourne and the Design Museum in Copenhagen.
Naharro furniture distributes the pieces manufactured by different furniture brands designed by Hvidt & Mølgaard in its Madrid stores and online store, with delivery and assembly service throughout Spain. Ask us for any additional information.
