Enric Sòria and Jordi Garcés
Enric Sòria (Barcelona, 1937) graduated in 1970 from the ETSAB (Higher Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona), and teaches there. Also professor at Elisava and ETS Arquitectura de La Salle.
Author of distinguished architectural and urban projects, such as the Picasso Museum, the Science Museum, the IMAX theater-cinema in Port Vell, the rehabilitation of Mercat del Born or the urban plan of Calle Tarragona, all of them in Barcelona; or also the plan of the Eix Macià (Sabadell) or the Museum of Navarra (Pamplona). He is the author of various designed objects as well as several books. He was associated with Jordi Garcés from 1970 to 1995, during which time they designed the Sylvestrina lamp, now reissued by Santa & Cole.
Jordi Garcés (Barcelona, 1945) also graduated in 1970 from the ETSAB and obtained his doctorate in 1987. He has taught both at the ETSAB and at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland.
Since 2008, with Daria de Seta and Anna Bonet, he has started a new stage of international competitions and commissions. His projects include the Palace of Justice in Strasbourg (France), the Maritime Station in Siracusa (Sicily), the Picasso Museum in Barcelona or three stations on Line 9 of the Barcelona Metro. He is co-author of the book "Autobiography of Jordi Garcés" from Editorial Anagrama.
