Kathleen Eileen Moray (1878-1976) was born in Enniscorthy, Ireland. His family changed his name to that of Gray in 1893.
She was a lacquer artist, furniture designer, interior designer and architect well known for incorporating lacquer work with luxury in International style. She was one of the first internationally recognized women in the industrial design activity.
Their tubular steel furniture was revolutionary in its day, and is now accepted as classics. His career culminated in 1972 with his appointment by the Royal Society of Art of London as Real Designer for the Industry. And his legendary Mesa E 1027 has been added to the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, at 1978.
