Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen
Eero Saarinen (1910-1961) was born in Kirkkonummi (Finland), studied sculpture in Paris and architecture at Yale University in New Haven. Charles Eames (1907-1978) was born in Missouri and studied architecture at the University of Washington.
Both creators meet at the Cranbrook Academy in Bloomfield Hills, with which they experience new forms for furniture and at 1940 they both participate in the "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" contest at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
