Carlos Gonçalves (Manteigas, Portugal, 1953) graduated in 1980 in the specialty of Engraving at the National School of Graphic Arts in Madrid, and four years later attends the Contemporary Art workshop directed by Antonio López García at the Círculo de BBAA in Madrid. He studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Madrid, where he is licensed at 1987.
He has participated in numerous group exhibitions such as, among others, the Levy Gallery, the Conde Duque Cultural Center and the Nolde Gallery.
He has won numerous awards such as the First Prize of the 2nd Ford Painting Competition at 1985, the Second Prize at the VI Maximo Ramos International Print Award, (Ferrol) and the Carmen Arozena Print Award.
In addition, it is represented in numerous private and public collections. To highlight the Museum of Contemporary Graphic Art (Fredrikstad, Norway), the Contemporary Graphic Fond (Cluj, Romania) or the National Library in Madrid.
