Warren Platner (1919-2006) studied at Cornell University, where he graduated from 1941 with a Bachelor of Architecture. He then went on to work legendary architects such as Raymond Loewy, Eero Saarinen and IM Pei before opening his own architecture studio. Notable architectural contributions brand his career, including several at the Georg Jensen Design Center and the Windows of the World restaurant at the World Trade Center in New York.
It was his furniture collection for Knoll, however, where Platner gained worldwide fame. Originally introduced by Knoll at 1966, the Platner Collection is an icon of modern furniture.
