Product description

Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Leioa in the year 1988 (University of the Basque Country). During the year 1989 lives in London, and between 1990 and 1998 resides in New York. He currently lives and works in Bilbao and is a member of Eusko Artisteen Elkartea. His work has been fundamentally sculptural, and although it initially approaches minimalism and formalism and with iron as a basic element of creation, it evolves adapting to the new forms, ideas and materials that sculpture offers. His first works were closely related to the sculptural conception of artists such as Oteiza, both in his appreciation of space and in the use of materials. Its innovative nature, made that little by little introduce different materials. His current work is more eclectic and the diversification of the concept has been extended. He has worked on the idea of ​​the house, of the habitat, of the everyday in his occupation and representation of spaces and in his works. He is considered one of the integrants of the so-called New Basque Sculpture, assisting in the last two decades to the consolidation of his sculptural projects.
