Charles and Ray Eames
Charles Eames (Missouri, 1907-1978) studied architecture at the University of Washington. In 1930 he opens his own architecture studio together with Charles M.Gray. In 1941 he marries Ray Kaiser who at that time began to be known as Ray Eames (California, 1912-1988). She studies Painting at the May Friend Bennet School in Millbrook, New York.
Charles and Ray Eames are among the most important American designers of this century. They are best known for their innovative contribution to architecture, furniture design, industrial design and manufacturing, and photographic art.
