Cecilie Manz was born in the Odsherred region, on the island of Selandia, in 1972. She was admitted to the Danish School of Design in Copenhagen and went to Helsinki as an exchange student, studying at the Finnish School of Art and Design, until she graduated from 1997. He then worked briefly in the studio of Professor Yrjö Wiherheimo in Helsinki, before returning to Copenhagen, where he founded his own studio, in 1998.
He has designed for brands such as LightYears, Holmegaard, Nils Holger Moormann, Fritz Hansen, Muuto and Mooment. She is considered one of the leading Danish designers of her generation. Her work includes furniture, jewelry, lamps and sculptures and her Mikado table has been included in the MOMA collection.
