Eero Aarnio (Helsinki, 1932) is one of the great innovators of modern furniture design. An interior designer, industrial designer, graphic designer and photographer, creator of a wide variety of visually striking designs, Aarnio has helped establish Finland in the international design brandet.
In the 1960 decade, he began experimenting with plastic materials, vivid colors and organic forms, breaking with traditional design conventions. His work has a great capacity for communication and a psychological effect on the user and the viewer. They are objects that stimulate imagination and seriousness with challenge and rigidity.
Many of Aarnio's works are part of the collections in the most prestigious museums in the world, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the MoMA in New York and the Vitra Museum in Weil am Rhein.
