Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) studied architecture at the Polytechnic in Milan, where he was born and died. After the Second World War, the studio controlled by the brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo joined. His objects stand as a clear example of rigorous method, technical skill, exuberant talent, and ingenuity, combined to achieve a beauty that performs both on a rational and emotional level. His work exemplifies the ideal of good design.
Castiglioni has designed dozens of objects, as well as temporary architecture for numerous exhibitions of works of art, trade fairs, and showrooms.
