The 1966 Collection armchair is part of the Knoll signature catalog. Designed by Richard Schultz, it is considered the first collection of contemporary outdoor furniture and was developed for the residence that Florence Knoll owned in California. The collection consists of chairs, armchairs, deckchairs and auxiliary tables with high weather resistance.
Details: Cast aluminum structure and finished in white and weatherproof polyester paint. Polyester seat mesh covered in vinyl and white finish. Seat height 35,5 cm.

Richard Schultz

Richard Schultz (1926) after studying mechanical engineering and design at Iowa State University and the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, joined Knoll at 1951.
Schultz is known for his outdoor furniture designs. Its elegant Petal Table, introduced in 1960, received the design award of the Industrial Design magazine.
After leaving Knoll, he continued to have a successful career designing collections for his own studio.
